Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a comedian, actress, and writer. O'Hara is the proud winner of numerous distinctions which include a Genie Award. In 2018, O'Hara was made an Officer of Canada. In 2020 she was awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara was first noticed as an actor in the year 1974, as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara joined Candy on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). The show received critical acclaim both for her writing abilities and acting, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
