Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first vice president to be female and the most powerful female politician in U.S. history, as well as the first African American and first Asian American vice president. As a member the Democratic Party, she was the former attorney general of California in 2011-2017 and she was a United States senator representing California in 2017-2021. Harris was born and was raised in Oakland, California. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she was elected the district attorney of San Francisco. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, and then re-elected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California, from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. As senator, Harris fought for healthcare, federal de-scheduling and the legalization of cannabis, a path to citizenship of undocumented immigrants, as well as the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. The attention of the nation was drawn by her sharp questioning of Trump administration officials at Senate sessions. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct.
